local scene

It's about that time everyone starts gettin a little excited for the winter season. Around here we have our local university club that goes to Tremblant every year and does a lot of boarding around the area. We had a rail jam one year at our club prez's backyard where we set up a scaffolding, a rail and a picnic table. Found the video from it the other day and thought I'd share it w/ the web again. Don't mind the shitty production value haha.

Transition time

The one part of the year I personally dislike. Fall. I hate it because it's inconsistently shitty and almost always only nice on days that I have to work. Either way winter's around the corner and were getting pretty stoked here. I know the idea of a good winter in Windsor seems impossible but were pullin for it. This is the time when we start planning for winter get aways but there's no boarding to be done yet...it gets irritating. So since summer is pretty well over and it's not quite winter, I guess we'll keep longboarding then. Speaking of which, we went boarding the other day downtown Windsor and rode 3 parking garages and filmed by the river. Needless to say it was one of the best days of riding any of us have had in a long time for what Windsor has to offer. There's a couple bends down on the trails by the riverfront that would test any rider. I personally look forward to the day when we can have some sort of event held in Windsor. Even though the selection is slim, we could have a sliding competition or freestyle longboarding event. I think it would be something that could really catch on. Well, here's hoping to the future of that idea. In the mean time check out this new vid. Just came out from Loaded and I'd say I'm more than impressed. It's gonna be hard to keep up with the new skateboard inspired tricks these longboard pro's are throwin'.
