So the kids at loaded are takin it bigger. I personally don't understand the ability to bust out skate tricks on a longboard without even using a kick tail but check out the tre in this video. The sport seems like it's growing every time I jump on Youtube.
I picked up a Tan Tien of my own to start learning to board better. It's amazing how a bit of bamboo and the right shape can change what you can do on a longboard. I've never been much of a skater, but the snow's where it's at. That's my first love. My newest love is on four wheels again and it feels similar to snowboarding. When you drop through trucks on a deck shaped like the Tan Tien or Dervish, it quickly becomes one of the closest feeling you get from snowboarding. The carves feel similar and your whole outlook on what you can do on four wheels goes out the window. Unlike soft, fluffy, powder when boarding you sadly now have concrete to deal with, but that shouldn't pose a problem if you pick up sliding gloves. Sliding gloves are going to be the thing that takes you to the next level. When you're able to put your hands down to help you balance (rather than when falling), your whole center of gravity becomes that much closer to the ground allowing new handling over the board like you've never felt. Speed mixed with the right amount of control takes over and forces you to slide. At first your scared of course, but being lower allows better control out of that lowered center of gravity and slides start to come naturally. Taking everything to the next level like these guys is where it separates the men from the boys. More speed equals bigger drifts with more of a possibility to really wreck yourself.
I find after sliding your outlook on the sport changes drastically. Turns you never thought possible are a joke and the whole enjoyment you get from longboarding jumps up ten fold. This board is the best plank I've ever put under my feet with four wheels. I feel like were in a new era, where this sport will eventually be as popular as skating. I can personally guarantee this board from loaded will progress your riding and leave you with a long lasting big ass smile on your face. :)
